Abstract: Nitrothiazole derivatives have been reported to exhibit activity against aerobic, anaerobic, and microaerophilic bacteria. This activity profile makes the nitrothiazole compound class an ideal lead source against Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which flourishes in varied environments with different oxygen concentrations.
