Synthesis and Heterogenization of Siloxane Functionalized Cobalt Complex: Potential Catalyst for Oxidation of Alcohols

Abstract: Cobalticinium complex containing siloxane moiety on ligand center was first time synthesized, characterized and heterogenized on the surface of SBA-15 molecular sieves. FT-IR and 29 Si-MAS-NMR spectrum evidence the successful grafting of the cobalt complex on the surface of SBA-15. N 2 sorption isotherm of cobalticinium complex grafted sample showed the decrease in surface area, pore volume, further confirms the presence of complex inside the channel of mesoporous SBA-15. The heterogenized complex exhibited pr… Show more

“…8). 100 The hybrid system was used as an efficient heterogeneous catalyst (conversion: 57-91%, TON: 356-568) for oxidation of various alcohols in the presence of TBHP in decane as oxidant with good selectivity of ketone. Noteworthy, the catalyst was reusable and preserved its catalytic activity aer recycling for two runs of reaction.…”

“…As‐synthesized HT shows reflections around 2 θ values of 12 and 23, corresponding to the (003) and (006) planes of the layered HT structure, respectively. The powder XRD pattern of pure MCM‐22 shows all reflections characteristic of the MWW (framework code of MCM‐22 zeolite) structure . The XRD profile of the as‐synthesized composite (MAMCM and MAMCM‐1), has reflections corresponding to the coexistence of both the layered HT structure and MCM‐22.…”

“…The MAMCM composite was prepared by a three‐step procedure. Initially the MCM‐22 and MA‐HT precursor gel were separately obtained as per procedures described in the literature , , . The MCM‐22 gel was prepared with a molar gel composition of SiO 2 /NaOH/Al 2 O 3 /HMI/H 2 O = 1:0.3:0.033:0.5:40 , .…”

“…generally the T-branches of APTES are shifted towards more negative ppm values. [93][94][95][96] Additionally, these peaks give information about the degree of functionalization in the pores. Integration of the signals (see Table 2 and Figure S2) demonstrates that the amount of silanol (Si-OH) groups decreased due to increasing numbers of siloxy (Si-O x ) groups.…”
