Synthesis and Evaluation of the Antimicrobial Activity of Dodecyl trimethyl ammonium and N-(N, N-dimethylamino) Propyl Glucosylamine

Abstract: In this study Dodecyl trimethyl ammonium sulphate (DTA) was obtained through quaternization reaction between dodecylamine and dimethyl sulfate (yield: 51.5%) while Dimethylamino propyl glucosylamine (DAPGA) was successively synthesized from D-glucose and 3-Dimethylamino propylamine (yield: 93.6%).
