Synthesis and Electrochemical Properties of the Tetraferrocenyl‐Cavitand in Dimethyl Formamide Solvent Using Platinum and Carbon Working Electrodes

Abstract: A tetraferrocenyl‐cavitand was synthesized through copper(I)‐catalyzed azide‐alkyne cycloaddition reaction. The electrochemical property of the cavitand possessing four ferrocenyl moieties at the upper rim was investigated in dimethyl formamide solvent using platinum and carbon working electrodes. Quasi reversible redox character was observed and no electrode fouling could be found. Different electrochemical methods were selected for determination of the diffusion coefficient and number of electrons taking par… Show more

“…Moreover, carbonylative syntheses applied on a cavitand skeletons were not mentioned in the literature at all, with the exception of the works of our research group. In the recent ten years, our research group had developed several palladium-and copper-catalyzed reactions on a cavitand sceleton [86][87][88][89], including palladium-catalyzed aminocarbonylation [90][91][92][93].…”
