“…The constructing materials of the hydrogel were PEG hydrogel and the agar. PEG hydrogel was used extensively in scaffolds for engineering applications like articular cartilage, neural tissue, and bladder tissue regeneration [ [28] , [29] , [30] , [31] ]. Agar has already been adopted as the matrix for cell culture [ 32 , 33 ].…”

“…Gelatin has many functional groups in its structure, so it can easily react with epichlorohydrin . Epichlorohydrin has been widely used in the preparation of different hydrogels for drug delivery purposes . Epichlorohydrin is toxic for prolonged high‐level oral consumption .…”

“…By definition, hydrogels are a kind of cross‐linked hydrophilic polymers which are able to absorb, swell, and retain a large quantity of water, saline, and other physiological solutions in their three‐dimensional structures, without being dissolved . Hydrogels are made up of water‐soluble polymers that are cross‐linked via chemical or physical bonds .…”

“…Recently, Ma et al combined two-photon AIE bioimaging and ROS-responsive drug delivery for the diagnosis and therapy of inflammation [ 118 ]. Prednisolone, a widely used anti-inflammatory glucocorticoid [ 119 ], was linked to the TP using an ROS-responsive bond to form a diagnosis therapy compound TPP, which was then encapsulated into the amphipathic polymeric PMPC–PMEMA micelles to obtain TPP@PMM. Once TPP@PMM was accumulated at inflammatory tissues, the aggregated micelles exhibited significant two-photon fluorescence emission and subsequently triggered micelle disintegration for precise drug delivery under the concentrated ROS stimulus [ 118 ].…”
