Synthesis and crystal structures of a copper(ii) dinuclear complex and zinc(ii) coordination polymers as materials for efficient oxidative desulfurization of dibenzothiophene

Abstract: Dinuclear copper(ii) complex [Cu2(BAc)4(QX)2], and 2D zinc(ii) coordination polymer, [Zn(TDPA)2(TMPy)2]n, presented high oxidation and adsorption thermodynamics for dibenzothiophene sulfoxide (DBTO).

“…The antisymmetric stretching vibrational mode of COO -(νasym (COO -)) is observed at 1567 cm -1 in [Cu 2 (TDPH) 4 (QNX)].DMF, a value lower than 1572 cm -1 in the free TDPH ligand suggesting coordination through the COOgroup of the TDPH. [28][29][30] In the uncoordinated TDPH, the symmetric COO -(νsym (COO -)) appear at 1315 cm -1 but shifted to a value of 1409 cm -1 , attributed to coordination through this group. The difference between the antisymmetric and symmetric stretching vibrations of the COOgroup Δ(νasym (COO -) -νsym (COO -)) is 158 cm -1 suggesting a bridging bidentate coordination mode for the COOin [Cu 2 (TDPH) 4 (QNX)].DMF.…”
