Abstract:The novel sulfur-containing benzimidazole cyclophanes were synthesized from bis(bromomethyl)benzene (o, m, p) and 2-benzimidazolinthion, respectively. The reaction showed that bromomethyl positions effected the aim compounds very much. It was easy for o-substituted to generate the [1:1] type cyclization product. p-Substituted obtained chain product, and m-substituted benzene pruduced the [2:2] type cyclization compound as main product.
