Synthesis and characterization of VP–DMN polymeric sorbents

Abstract: Porous copolymers of 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (VP) with 1,4-di(methacryloyloxymethyl) naphthalene (DMN) have been synthesized by suspension polymerization in the presence of inert diluent. They have different specific surface area and contain various amount of strongly polar pyrrolidone groups. Their sorptive properties have been studied using solution of p-chlorophenol.
