Synthesis and Characterization of Various Photosensitive Copper(II) Complexes with 5‐(1‐Methylhydrazinyl)‐1H‐tetrazole as Ligand and Perchlorate, Nitrate, Dinitramide, and Chloride as Anions

Abstract: The preparation of 5-(1-methylhydrazinyl)-1H-tetrazole monohydrate (1⋅H2O) and various copper(II) complexes with perchlorate (2 and 3), nitrate (4, 5, and 6), dinitramide (7), and chloride (8) is described. The coordination compounds (monomers, dimers, and polymers) were characterized through infrared spectroscopy and elemental analysis. Further, the structures of 2 and 4-8 were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 can act as a bidentate ligand in its neutral form (HMHT) and as a μ2- or μ… Show more

“…Various combinations have been described in the literature . Highly energetic and sensitive complexes are formed by the combination of hydrazine derivatives (hydrazine, monomethylhydrazine, dimethylhydrazine, semicarbazide (SC), carbohydrazide (CHZ) but also N ‐amino‐azoles) as the ligand with nitrate or perchlorate transition metal salts . One of the most prominent ECC of this type is NHN (nickel hydrazine nitrate) which has also successfully been tested in detonators but contains very toxic nickel(II) …”

“…Multidentate N-hetero-cyclic ligands containing rich coordination sites, such as imidazole, triazole, tetrazole and their derivative areo ften employed to producep olymeric networks with structural diversityo wing to theirv arious coordination modes. Plenty of appealing coordination frameworks based on these ligands has been reported [3][4][5][6]. For some timenow we have involved in the synthesis of as eries of multidentate Nheterocyclic compounds and studied their coordination behaviors [7][8][9][10][11].…”
