Synthesis and characterization of two new photochromic inorganic-organic hybrid materials based on Keggin-type polyoxometalates

Abstract: Two new photochromic inorganic-organic hybrid materials formed from Keggin-type polyoxometalates(POMs) and metronidazole (C 6 H 9 N 3 O 3 , MNZ), formulated as H 3 PMo 12 O 40 •3MNZ·3H 2 O (1) and H 3 PW 12 O 40 •3MNZ·3H 2 O(2), were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra, electronic spectra, electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra and thermogravi-metry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). Refl ectance spectra show the presence of weak intermolecular charge transfer between the organi… Show more

“…However, although PMMA is hydrophobic and MTN and Mo 132 are hydrophilic, they can form strong hydrogen bonds. Moreover, Mo 132 can form ionic bonds with MTN molecules 58 . The higher contents of Mo 132 in nanofibers show a lower MTN release.…”
