“…other merits such as good thermal and low moisture absorption [25][26][27]. Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with high stiffness and tensile strength have received enormous attention for the composites with desired mechanical properties [28], and also in electrochemistry mainly due to their electrocatalytic effects and ability to promote electron transfer reactions [29].…”

“…Final cyclomidization results suggested that the variation in the range of cycloimidization was more at lower temperatures (175-200 C) than at higher temperatures. The extents of cycloimidization of the different PAAs were very close to each other at higher temperature (260 C 4,9), and MDA (P AI 5,10) exhibited higher Tg values in the DSC scans. It seems the presence of electron withdrawing groups, like sulfones, and more aromatic structures in the diamine unit increased the rate of cycloimidization, which resulted in higher Tgs of these polymers.…”

“…Polyimide P I 10, containing MDA units, showed the highest Tg, i.e., 320 C. The transitions of the other polymers were in the range of 278-310 C. The poly(amide imide)s P AI 1-P AI 10 also displayed glass transitions in a wide range of temperatures, with a minimum value of 170 C for polymer P AI 1, and a maximum value of about 310 C for polymer P AI 5. The lower Tg for polymer P AI 1 may be attributed to the presence of flexible methylene linkages in the polymer chain, However, the PAIs containing ODA (P AI 3,8), 3APS (P AI 4,9) and MDA (P AI 5,10) showed higher Tg values. It seems that the presence of electron withdrawing groups, like sulfone, and more aromatic structures in the diamine unit increased the rate of cycloimidization which, in turn, resulted in higher Tgs of the polymers.…”

“…This aliphatic ring restricts the close packing of the polymer chains, thereby reducing the probability of interchain interactions, resulting in better polymer solubility. 23,24 Optical properties All the pale yellow-coloured PIs absorb light of wavelength shorter than 350 nm in the UV region, indicating good transparency. 22,25 On the one hand, low colourations of PIs could be attributed to their loose molecular packing induced by the chiral centre between benzene ring and tetrahydroisoquinoline ring in the diamine moiety.…”
