Abstract:With the increase in the supply of glycerol and its economic devaluation, it is important to develop strategies that add value to this substance. Among the various alternatives, one application is its use as a precursor in the synthesis of new polyesters. Therefore, this work describes the condensation reaction of glycerol with valeric acid, obtaining functionalized glycerol, which was used in the polycondensation reaction with terephthalic acid. The samples were characterized by infrared spectroscopy, thermog… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
