Synthesis and Characterization of Poly (1,4-Benzenedimethylene Phthalate) and the Study of its ability to sorb Pb(II), Cd(II), and Zn(II) ions

Abstract: kinetics of metal-ion uptake, high mechanical strength, chemical resistance and recyclability of the polymer [4,5].According to their methods of preparation, synthetic polymers can be divided into three major types:A. Chain Reaction (Addition) Polymers: These polymers are formed by addition to the double bond of monomers containing carbon-carbon double bonds, called vinyl monomers, without the loss of small molecules. The repeating units of addition polymers have the same composition as the monomer [6].
