Como o Ca 2+ não possui elétrons nos orbitais d (d 0 ), não contribui para a cor do pigmento. Nesse sentido, os íons Cr 3+ e Fe 3+ são os cromóforos do espinélio sintetizado, sendo o íon Fe 3+ o principal contribuinte para a cor final, conforme evidenciado pela banda larga entre 450 e 700 nm no espectro de reflectância das amostras, sendo atribuída à transição 6 A1g-4 T2g, que é característica do íon Fe 3+ em sítio octaédrico [20][21][22]. Devido ao pequeno percentual de dopagem (10% de cromo) e a sobreposição das bandas do íon Fe 3+ , as transições do íon Cr 3+ em sítio octaédrico não são observadas e, portanto, não exercem contribuição significativa na cor alaranjada do pigmento.…”
