Synthesis and Characterization of Nanosized Uranyl Coordination Polymers Derived from Terephthalic Acid and Azoles

Abstract: The structure of the complexes [UO 2 (TPA)(Azole)(H 2 O)].xH 2 O, TPA = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid and azoles = 2-aminobenzothiazole, 2-aminothiazole, 2-amino-4-methylthiazole and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole has been prepared and characterized. The structure of the complexes has been assigned based on elemental analysis, IR, electronic spectral studies, magnetic measurement, molar conductance, Scanning electron microscope (S.E.M), X-ray powder diffraction techniques investigations and thermogravimetric analysis … Show more

“…1,4benzenedicarboxylic acid and its coordination complexes have great attention in many studies due to their chemical and biological activities [42]. It has bifunctional carboxyl groups and exhibits many coordinate modes; it is common in the preparation of coordination polymers [43,44]. And it has diverse great features of the compound, which are attributed to their ability to chelate with metal ions [45].…”
