“…Moreover, modes at 284 (Ag), 333 (Ag), and 622 (Ag) cm −1 are comparable to the Raman active optical phonons of monoclinic CuO (C 6 2h space group), in good agreement with the previously reported data [30]. These modes may be superimposed to those of hematite and maghemite, evidencing that Cu addition has an impact on decreasing the crystallinity of the samples.…”

“…Figure 1 displays the XRD profiles of the CuO nanostructures synthesized using different concentrations of NaOH. All of the Bragg's reflections can be indexed to the monoclinic-phase [17][18][19] of CuO (space group C2/c), which is very close to the reported data (JCPDS 48-1548) whereas no characteristic peaks of any other impurities such as Cu(OH) 2 , Cu 2 O, or precursors used were observed. In all cases, peak broadening was observed, which depicts the nanostructural crystalline domains in CuO.…”

“…Intuitive software enables the user to control everything from process conditions (temperature, time and heating rate). The user simply defines the desired temperature-time profile, and the MAH will automatically carry out the programmed cycle [9,10]. After MAH treatment, the white precipitate was washed with distilled water and dried at room temperature.…”

“…Recently, the MAH method has been successfully employed to obtain materials, such as ZnO [8], BaTiO 3 [9], CuO [10] and CeO 2 [11].…”
