“…The synthesis of conjugated polymers P1–P8 was accomplished from monomers A1 , A2 (ref. 34 and 35) and D1–D8 via the Stille polycondensation reaction as shown in Scheme 1. To control the course of the polycondensation reaction, dynamic GPC was used.…”

“…In 2021, Akkuratov et al reported two conjugated polymers, P1(m 5 ) and P2(m 5 ), which were composed of 2,6‐BBTz and 4,8‐BBTz units, T units, and BT units to study their difference. [ 105 ] P1(m 5 ) and P2(m 5 ) showed similar optical properties, but P2(m 5 ) exhibited a lower bandgap of 1.58 eV than P1 of 1.66 eV due to strong π–π interactions between the polymer chains in a solid state. Blended with PC 71 BM, P1(m 5 ) possessed a higher J SC compared to P2(m 5 ), which was associated with superior charge transport characteristics and a more favorable morphology of P1(m 5 )/PC 71 BM blend films.…”

“…[35] BBTz has two conjugation pathways of traditional 2,6-BBTz and orthogonal 4,8-BBTz, and the latter extends the conjugation beyond the polymer chain direction, leading to higher interactions between polymer chains. [37] Polymers based on the former are well-studied, [37] while those with the latter have been poorly developed. [38][39][40][41][42][43][44] Chen et al have demonstrated 4,8-BBTz based polymers could obtain high mobilities, long exciton lifetimes, pure domains, and dominant face-on orientation when blending with Y6, thus delivering decent PCEs over 15%.…”
