Synthesis and characterization of ammonium-based protic ionic liquids for carbon dioxide absorption

Asyraf Hanim Ab Rahim,
Normawati M. Yunus,
Zahirah Jaffar
et al.

Abstract: A series of ammonium-based protic ionic liquids, APILs have been synthesized and characterized and their CO2 absorption capacity and potential recyclability have been determined for their potential usein the application of CO2 removal.

“…Subsequently, these qualities will facilitate the understanding of the behavior and properties of the solvent. For instance, Rahim et al [49] estimated the electronic polarizability or molar refraction of a solvent based on RI data, which is an important parameter to determine the free volume available in the solvent. Therefore, it is worthwhile to investigate the RI to obtain useful insight into the gas solubility in the solvent.…”
