“…[20][21][22][23][24][25] The RE metal ions tend to form dimers that oen result in MOFs with low porosity. [26][27][28] It has been widely reported that the addition of a modulator can result in RE-MOFs with larger metal clusters. [29][30][31][32] Modulators were originally designed to bind to metal ions to control crystallization rates, oen leading to larger X-ray quality crystals.…”

“…We have previously synthesized holmium-based MOFs (Ho-MOFs), in part because holmium can be neutron activated and used for radiotherapy. Generally, using benzene dicarboxylate (BDC) or related linkers resulted in MOFs only containing Ho 3+ dimers. Therefore, we tested 2-fba as a modulator, since the reported clusters in these MOFs impart better stabilities.…”

“…The infrared spectra of PNH and PNH-Fe(III) are shown in Figure S1a. The CO and C–N bonds of BPDCA have absorptions at 1735 and 1400 cm –1 , respectively . The N–H bond of 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane has an obvious absorption peak at 3270 cm –1 , and a characteristic peak corresponding to Fe 2 O 3 appears at about 460 and 560 cm –1 , indicating that the surface of the nanoparticles has been successfully wrapped by the polymer.…”

“…The CO and C−N bonds of BPDCA have absorptions at 1735 and 1400 cm −1 , respectively. 16 The N−H bond of 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane has an obvious absorption peak at 3270 cm −1 , 17 and a characteristic peak corresponding to Fe 2 O 3 appears at about 460 and 560 cm −1 , 18 indicating that the surface of the nanoparticles has been successfully wrapped by the polymer. We performed a thermal stability test, TGA, on PNH, Fe 2 O 3, and Fe 2 O 3 @PNH to detect their stability and to help us determine the optimal hydrothermal temperature.…”
