Synthesis and Characterization of (1-x)BaTiO3-xBaF2-xLiF Ceramics

Abstract: Oxyfluoride phases have been synthesized in free atmosphere at 950 • C during 4 hours, using the BaTiO 3 perovskite and the fluorides BaF 2 and LiF. The XRD study at room temperature on powder, for various compositions has shown the formation of a new solid solution (1-x)BaTiO 3 -xBaF 2 -xLiF in the range 0 < x ≤ 0.15. Furthermore the XRD analysis indicates the transition of crystalline type from tetragonal to cubic symmetry from the composition x = 0.035. This result can be attributed to the decrease of the c… Show more

“…They found that the doping level of BaLiF 3 required to transform into the cubic phase of the solid solution is much lower than that of LiF. Later, Talantikite‐Touati and Benziada 29 reported a PTCR behavior for BaTi 1‐x Li x O 3‐3x F 3x with a high doping level ( x = .10, 0.15) without reasonable explanation. Very few researches about BaTi 1‐x Li x O 3‐3x F 3x have been reported since then except for ref 30,31 …”
