“…All chemicals were reagent or analytical grade and were used without further purification. Cyclohexeno-1,2,3-selenadiazole (SDZ) was synthesized by reported method. , For powder X-ray diffraction analysis a Mini Flex Rigaku X-ray diffractometer with Cu Kα (λ = 1.5406 Å) was used. SEM and EDS analyses were performed on a Carl Zeiss scanning electron microscope.…”

“…The synthesis of binary metal selenide NPs involves reaction between respective metal salt and previously synthesized SDZ as selenium precursor. , In a typical procedure, the mixture of copper(II) chloride dihydrate (0.011 mol)/silver nitrate (0.011 mol)/antimony chloride (0.0087 mol)/indium chloride (0.0090 mol), diphenyl ether (10 mL), and oleic acid (8.0–10 mL) was heated to 85–90 °C under nitrogen atmosphere for 10–15 min. Subsequently predissolved SDZ (0.0058 mol for silver, 0.0117 mol for copper salt, and 0.0134 mol for In and Sb salt) in 2.0 mL of oleic acid was injected into the above reaction mixture.…”

“…Recently, it has been described that in situ generated hydrogen selenide gas by aromatization of tetralin to naphthalene could make the synthesis a little easier [26]. The chemistry of 1,2,3-selenadiazoles has been mainly explored for its reactions with transition metal complexes [27,28]. We, however, have recently described that this selenium precursor can be used as a source of selenium for synthesis of CdSe and our ongoing efforts in synthesizing nano-particles/powders of semiconductors have resulted in exciting results.…”
