“…24 Many alkaloids can also inhibit bacteria or appear to act synergistically with antibiotics to kill bacteria. 25 In addition, cyanobacteria can produce a variety of structural inhibitors, including cyclic depsipeptides, cyclic peptides, cyclic undecapeptides, cyclophane, extracellular pigment, fatty acids, linear peptides, lipopeptides, nucleosides, phenols, macrolides, polyketides, polyphenyl ethers, porphinoids, and terpenoids. 26 Some of these compounds have chemical structures similar to those of the antibiotics currently in use, such as macrolides (macrolide antibiotics) and polyketides (tetracycline antibiotics).…”

“…Evaluation results of a rat model of collagen‐induced arthritis (CIA) in vivo showed that two of these compounds could inhibit inflammation. At the same time, the simulation study of SAR and molecular docking provided certain guiding significance for the further study of pharmacodynamics or structural modification (Zhou & Huang, 2021; Zhou et al, 2020; Zhou, Zou, et al, 2021).…”

“…Many marine natural products have been shown to have a good inhibitory effect on human cancer cell lines during activity screening [ 16 , 20 , 25 ], in particular alkaloids [ 16 , 26 , 27 ]. Besides antiproliferative activity, marine alkaloids possess a high degree of biological activities, such as anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antimalarial, anti-fungal, antibacterial, antiosteoporosis, and immunomodulatory activity [ 16 , 22 , 28 , 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 , 33 , 34 , 35 ]. Alkaloids can be classified in terms of their chemical structure into subclasses such as sterols, pyridoacridines, pyrazinones, pyrroles, isoquinolines, guadinines, aminoimidazoles, indoles, and bis-indoles [ 36 ].…”
