Syntheses with Nitriles. Part 96. Colorformers Based on Pyrazolomalononitriles -Synthesis, Properties and Structure-Color Relationships.-One component off-white colorformers (V) and (VIII) are obtained from pyrazolone derivatives (III) and anilines (IV) or quinoline derivative (VII). The colorformers give dyes (VI) and (IX) by thermal or photochemical elimination of hydrocyanic acid. For the preparation of the dyes photolysis is the method of choice since the yields are much better and fewer by-products are formed. -(DWORCZAK, R.; FABIAN, W. M.
