Syntheses, Structures, Luminescence, and Gas Adsorption Properties of Two New Heterometallic Complexes Involving Alkaline Earth Metals (Ca, Ba)

Abstract: Two new 3D heterometallic frameworks, [Me 2 NH 2 ][CaCd 2 (BTC)(HBTC) 2 ]·4H 2 O( 1) and [Ba 11 Co 2 (BTC) 8 (μ 3 -OH) 2 (μ 2 -H 2 O) 6 (H 2 O) 16 ] (2) (H 3 BTC = 1,3,5benzenetricarboxylic acid, Me 2 NH 2 = protonated dimethylamine), were synthesized using solvothermal and hydrothermal techniques, respectively. Complex 1 features a 3D microporous framework; it contains hourglass-like trinuclear [CaCd 2 (COO) 6 ] clusters that are bridged by -COOgroups and form zigzag chains. These chains are further interlink… Show more

“…The luminescence spectra of 2 and 4 at 77 K are similar with the three strongest peaks located at 468 nm, 483 nm, and 493 nm. The origin of the observed emissions may be assigned to the intraligand n–π* and /or π–π* excited states …”
