Syntheses, structures, and luminescence of two Zn(II) coordination polymers based on 5-(4-imidazol-1-yl-phenyl)-2H-tetrazole and carboxylates

Abstract: Two Zn(II) coordination polymers with intricate 2-D network and 3-D framework with new 3-connected topology were constructed.Reactions of Zn(II) salts, 5-(4-(1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl)-1H-tetrazolate (HIPT) and 2-mercaptobenzoic acid or 2-propyl-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid (H 3 PrIDC), result in two mixed-ligand coordination polymers (CPs), [Zn 2 (IPT)(DSDB)(OH)] n (H 2 DSDB = 2,2′-disulfanediyldibenzoic acid, 1) and [Zn 2 (IPT)(PrIDC)(H 2 O)] n (H 3 PrIDC = 2-propyl-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid, 2)… Show more

“…Single crystal X-ray diffraction shows that 4 crystallizes in the monoclinic system with P2(1)/c space group and the asymmetric unit contains only one crystallographically independent Cd(II), one TBPC 2− , and one coordinated water. The local coordination geometry around the Cd(II) ion can be described as a [CdN 3 O 3 ] slightly distorted octahedron [29,30], with the axial positions occupied by one nitrogen from one TBPC 2− and one oxygen from one coordinated water ( figure 4(a)). The equatorial plane consists of two nitrogens and two carboxylate oxygens from the other three different TBPC 2− ligands.…”
