Syntheses and Molecular Structure of [Mg2(OR)4(AlMe3)2] and [ZrCl3(OR)2(AlMe2)] (OR = 1-methoxy-2-propoxide)

Abstract: The magnesium dicubane-like species [Mg 4 -(OR) 8 ] (1, 99%) react with AlMe 3 to form [Mg 2 (OR) 4 -(AlMe 3 ) 2 ] (2, 58%), which react with ZrCl 4 to give [ZrCl 3 (OR) 2 (AlMe 2 )] (3, 43%).
