Synthesis of an Insulin A‐Chain Fragment A14–21 with the Diphenylmethyl Protecting Group for Cysteine The synthesis of the C‐terminal octapeptide of the insulin A‐chain, N‐2‐[biphenylyl‐(4)]‐propyl‐(2)‐oxycarbonyl‐O‐tert.‐butyl‐L‐tyrosyl‐L‐glutaminyl‐L‐leucyl‐γ‐tert.‐butyl‐L‐glutamyl‐L‐asparaginyl‐O‐tert.‐butyl‐L‐tyrosyl‐S‐diphenylmethyl‐L‐cysteinyl‐L‐asparagine‐tert.‐butylester, by conventional fragment condensations is described.
