Syntaxin 4 (STX4)‐ More than just a SNARE protein: Elevating STX4 content in skeletal muscle to prevent insulin resistance/pre‐diabetes

Abstract: Type 2 diabetes results from a combination of peripheral insulin resistance plus insulin secretion defects. Insulin resistance is characterized by a failure of skeletal muscle to clear excess blood glucose from the circulation, and is central to what is commonly called ‘pre‐diabetes'.
