“…Moreover, Liu et al [38] described in the Raman spectra of Zr-modified CeO 2 solids, not only the presence of a band around 306 cm (Figure 3, inset) suggesting its structural modification. Li et al [27] have reported similar bands in the Raman spectra of a Ce 0.7 Fe 0.3 O 2-δ solid, which they ascribed to Fe 2 O 3 . De Faria et al in their Raman study of iron oxides and oxyhydroxides, observed changes in the relative intensity of Raman signals in natural and synthetic hematite due to changes in the crystallinity of the solids which generates changes in the sample orientation and in the band polarization behavior [35].…”

“…We have shown in a previous work that the segregation of α-Fe 2 O 3 was detected for iron contents higher than 10 atomic% in a series of Ce-Fe mixed oxides synthesized by a pseudo solgel method through the decomposition of the cerium and iron propionates [10]. In the same sense, Li et al [27] also reported the 10 atomic% Fe as the maximum iron content able to form the Ce-Fe solid solution without segregation of iron oxides, in a series of mixed oxides prepared by co-precipitation with ammonia at pH around 8-10 [27]. Pérez-Alonso et al [14] also studied the Ce-Fe mixed system synthesized by coprecipitation with NH 4 OH.…”

“…This is due to the fact, that Zr 4+ prefers a lower coordination with oxygen (e.g. Zr [7] in monoclinic ZrO 2 ) in contrast to Ce [8].…”

“…Today, syngas is mainly produced by steam or dry (CO 2 ) reforming or partial oxidation of fossil resources, mainly natural gas, accompanied by a substantial emission of greenhouse gases [5][6][7]. For a transition away from fossil energy, several processes have been developed that produce syngas from renewable sources (CO 2 , water) employing solar energy to cover the reaction heat [8,9].…”
