Syngas as a Reburning Fuel for Natural Gas Combustion

Abstract: The paper aims to confirm the syngas application as a reburning fuel to reduce e.g. NO emission during natural gas combustion. The main aim of this modelling work was to predict pollutants generated in the exhaust gases and to indicate the influence of the syngas on the natural gas combustion process. The effect of residence time of fuel-air mixture was also been performed. Calculations were made with CHEMIKN-PRO for reburning process using syngas. The boundary conditions of the reburning process were based on… Show more

“…Regarding the involvement of several factors in the value of AFT, it is required to select the best conditions to get the maximum possible energy. In this regard, experimental work is used to investigate the combustion process 18 ; however, because of some complexity of the combustion and reaction kinetics, most research nowadays are using software, numerical analysis, and modeling to simulate the combustion process 19–22 . The objective of this research is to derive an analytical equation that can be used to calculate the AFT for a mixture of natural gas containing CH4,C2H6,and0.12emC3H8.…”

[19][20][21][22] The objective of this research is to derive an analytical equation that can be used to calculate the AFT for a mixture of natural gas containing CH 4 , C 2 H 6 , andC 3 H 8 . The derived equation is obtained by applying the energy balance under steady-state conditions assuming no heat loss.…”

“…Biomass use is often combined with gasification as one of the interesting technologies of thermochemical conversion of solid fuel into a useful gas [1]. Biomass-derived syngas can be potentially used in power boilers [2][3][4] or in gas pis-ton engines [5][6][7] Energy crops are an interesting type of biomass due to its local availability and significant positive impact on the soil [8,9]. In agroenergetics, three groups of perennial plants are mainly used: trees and shrubs, grasses and perennials [10].…”
