Synergic effect of tribenzylamine (TBA) on the solvent extraction of Fe (III), Co (II) and Cu(II) by thenoyltrifluoroacetone (ΗΤΤΑ) in chloroform from aqueous medium of ionic strength 0.33 Μ (H + , NaC10") has been studied. For trivalent iron an enhanced extraction >98% was observed at pH 2.5 and the equilibrium was attained within 5 minutes. Extraction parameters such as concentrations of ΗΤΤΑ, TBA and pH were optimised by a triangular co-ordinate graph. The stoichiometry of the extractable adduct Fe(TTA), TBA was established by slope analysis. Extraction and formation constants of extractable species were computed.
