Synergistic excitability plasticity in cerebellar functioning

Abstract: nections from the cerebellar nuclei to neocortex and associated regions: for example, thalamus and midbrain. Taken together, recent advances in neuroscience have begun to shed light on the complex functioning of nonsynaptic excitability and the synergy.

“…Importantly, the cellular-scale plasticity manifolds in circadian rhythm generation and memory formation also involve glia [ 12 , 14 , 18 , 26 , 27 , 36 , 37 ]. Similar examples of multiscale plasticity manifolds are found across different brain regions [ 1 , 16 , 38 41 ].…”

“…Phosphorylation of AMPARs increases AMPAR-mediated current in hippocampal pyramidal neurons, but reduces the current in cerebellar Purkinje cells [ 55 ] as a consequence of the differential expression of AMPAR subunits. Thus, it is important that cell type specificity of molecular and cellular plasticity manifolds is explicitly accounted for [ 19 , 22 , 34 36 , 38 , 40 , 54 58 ].…”

“…First, considering that chronic stress triggers sustained changes in mental conditions, certain forms of plasticity likely occur in the circuit mediating the changes. As many forms of plasticity have been reported in the cerebellum (D'Angelo et al, 2016;Ohtsuki et al, 2020), the plasticity of synapses or intrinsic excitability (IE) may be involved in the process of stress application leading to the decrease in PC firing and the increase in DCN neuron activity. A sequence of plasticity suggested by a study of motor memory (Jang et al, 2020) (Carta et al, 2019).…”

“…É necessário alertar sobre as particularidades fisiológicas e bioquímicas acerca da doença inflamatória e seu comprometimento, principalmente da barreira hematoplacentária, pois quanto mais tardia a detecção, maiores serão os prejuízos neurológicos fetais. [6] No que se refere à neurofisiologia, diversas citocinas inflamatórias, incluindo IL- foram associadas a comportamentos semelhantes aos autistas e depressivos [22,23].…”
