Synergistic effect of an atomically dual-metal doped catalyst for highly efficient oxygen evolution

Abstract: Isolated dual transition metal atoms (Ni and Fe) were uniformly embedded into graphitic carbon nitrideviaa metal–Nxbond, resulting in highly efficient catalytic activity due to the electronic structure reconfiguration.

“…Synergism of Dual Metal Sites : Using an identical synthetic strategy, atomically dispersed Ni and Fe SACs on g‐C 3 N 4 /CTNs were obtained that experimentally demonstrated a synergistic effect of Ni–Fe dual metal sites on g‐C 3 N 4 . The OER kinetics were further analyzed by examining Tafel plots.…”

“…Zheng et al used carbon nanotube as conductive substrate to prepare atom Co embed g‐C 3 N 4 (Co‐C 3 N 4 /carbon nanotube (CNT)) through the pyrolysis of the mixture of CoCl 2 , dicyandiamide, and carbon nanotube at 600 °C . Based on the identical method, Liu et al further synthesized atomically dispersed Ni and Fe sites coexisting in g‐C 3 N 4 supported on carbon nanotube ( Figure a) . Jiao et al then extended the study to atom Cu doped g‐C 3 N 4 supported on conductive carbon black for electrochemical CO 2 RR .…”
