“…The formation of polymeric beryllium species has been reported elsewhere. 104 In common with Anthony Hill's disinclination to prepare more bis-(3-methylbut-1-yn-1-yl)mercury 105 we feel unmotivated to work with higher concentrations of beryllium for health and safety reasons. However at a future time using radioactive 7 Be in an AKUFVE it could be possible to measure the stability constants for the beryllium acetate complexes using a procedure similar to that used to investigate the binding of thorium to isosaccharinic acid.…”

“…Trioctylamine (3), Aliquat 336 (4), and dipentylamine in amyl acetate (5) were used for beryllium extraction from thiocyanate media at pH 3.0. Beryllium was extracted from sulfuric acid solutions with tributylamine (6) and substituted octylamine (7), and it was extracted with Aliquat 336 (8) or triisooctylamine (9) from oxalate media. Unfortunately all these extractions were not quantitative.…”

“…This involved separation of Be from aluminum by di-2-ethylhexyl phosphoric acid (HDEHP) and Cyanex 921 (commercial TOPO) from beryl sulfate solutions and the extraction is affected by changes in pH [1,[17][18][19] . In addition, TBP, Aliquat 336 and DEHPA are used for separation of beryllium from sulfate and chloride respectively [19][20][21][22] . Cyanex 272 in kerosene is also used for extraction and separation Al and Be from sulfate pregnant solution of a Nigerian beryl ore and the extraction rate is high.…”
