The majority of studies on the recovery of drug addicts have been viewed from a medical approach. This article discusses religious approaches, such as providing continuous da'wah, Islamic therapy and spiritual strengthening that encourage conversion of drug addicts at the rehabilitation residence of Sibolangit Center, North Sumatra. The data were collected through observation, open interviews with 6 drug addicts and 2 employees of the rehabilitation residence of Sibolangit Center. The data analyzed by using the Miles and Huberman analysis technique. Using the theory of habituation (operant conditioning) B.F. Skinner, this study argues that human behavior can be conditioned. The first part of this paper discusses the Islamic da'wah routine and therapy in recovering drug addicts from drug addiction. The next section describes the spiritual and conversion experiences experienced by drug addicts at the rehabilitation residence of Sibolangit Center. This paper argues that Islamic da'wah and therapy activities that are carried out regularly can foster spiritual awareness and the drug addicts desire to repent. The religious approach is a life-saving mechanism from drug addiction.
