Synchronously intracavity pumped dual pulse optical parametric oscillator

Abstract: Abstract:We developed an intracavity synchronously pumped optical parametrical oscillator, generating two independent trains of picosecond pulses at wavelength 1540 nm. We have improved and optimized experimental setup from the point of view of achievability of stable mode-locking and compensation of astigmatism. Present setup is as very little sensitive on the action of thermal lens generated in the Nd:YVO 4 crystal by laser diode pumping radiation and it is possible to work on wider range of pump intensities… Show more

“…A diode-pumped mode-locked laser, operating at 1064 nm, was used for quasi-synchronous pumping of the parametrical oscillator. The technical details of this laser can be found in [13]. The active medium of this laser, the Nd:YVO 4 crystal (0.25 at.% Nd/Y, 10 mm long, square faces 3 × 3 mm, AR coated), was placed in a water-cooled copper holder.…”

“…To reduce the complexity of these arrangement, pumping system based on diode pumped mode locked Nd:YVO 4 laser was used and synchronously intracavity pumped OPO with linear cavity was demonstrated. [3] In this paper we present results obtained with synchronously intracavity pumped ring OPO.…”
