Synchronous Condenser’s Loss of Excitation and Its Impact on the Performance of UHVDC

Abstract: The synchronous condenser (SC) has a broad application prospect in ultra-high-voltage direct current (UHVDC) systems. The SC’s loss of excitation (LOE) is an important grid-related fault that may cause damage to the UHVDC.
