Symptoms of anxiety in depression: assessment of item performance of the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale in patients with depression

Abstract: These results demonstrate anxiety as a core feature of depression, and the relationship between anxiety-related symptoms and depression should be considered in the assessment of depression and evaluation of treatment strategies and outcome.

“…These women were interviewed between 24 and 28 weeks of gestation for psychiatric diagnoses using the Structured Clinical Interview for the DSM‐IV‐R (SCID; Williams et al, 1992).
