“…However, although these patients had histological evidence of pancreatic disease, none of them had signs or symptoms of pancreatic disease between the acute exacerbations. Pancreatic disease is a common cause of symptoms after cholecystectomy (Raymer et al, 1960) and it is hoped that the information obtained by peroperative biopsy will prove of value in the subsequent management of these patients.
