Symptomatic Hypothyroidism after Aortic Valve Replacement in an Octogenarian

Abstract: Surgical stress is closely associated with the activity of the thyroid hormone. Although many patients undergoing cardiac surgery revealed markedly low triiodothyronine T3 , few patients showed symptomatic hypothyroidism.
