Symmetries near the horizon

Abstract: We consider a nearly-AdS 2 gravity theory on the two-sided wormhole geometry. We construct three gauge-invariant operators in NAdS 2 which move bulk matter relative to the dynamical boundaries. In a two-sided system, these operators satisfy an SL(2) algebra (up to non perturbative corrections). In a semiclassical limit, these generators act like SL(2) transformations of the boundary time, or conformal symmetries of the two sided boundary theory. These can be used to define an operator-state mapping. A particul… Show more

“…In other words, the second copy of G acts in the space indexed by the letter i in (6), but does not commute with the Hamiltonian. This is reminiscent of the paper [45] that constructed, in the setting of JT gravity coupled to matter, a gauge-invariant SL 2 algebra that does not commute with the Hamiltonian. 25 It may be important to understand this point better.…”

“…Note that we could have guessed an expression of this form by naively ignoring the P, B charges and using the effective action given by 3.10. It might seem rather peculiar that the oscillations are at a frequency ω which is determined by the breathing mode and not the AdS frequency, especially since there is a close connection between length and momentum [8]. However the momentum is given by…”

“…So there is no contradiction as long as we remember the relative signs. Note that in the usual coupled wormhole, the breathing mode and the AdS frequency are of the same order of magnitude, but in a slightly more complicated model, they can be different [8].…”

“…where O R,L are scalar operators of dimension ∆ ∈ (0, 1/2), dual to χ. On the other hand, by takingβ as the source term, this deformation could be realized as the non-local interaction with the SL(2, R) gauge constraint (see [5,21,24]). In this note, we take the L/R boundary proper time as the same oneũ.…”
