SWIPT in MISO full-duplex systems

Abstract: This paper investigates a multiuser multiple-input single-output (MISO) full-duplex (FD) system for simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT), in which a multi-antenna base station (BS) simultaneously sends wirelessly information and power to a set of single-antenna mobile stations (MSs) using power splitters (PSs) in the downlink and receives information in the uplink in FD mode. In particular, we address the joint design of the receive PS ratio and the transmit power at the MSs, and the be… Show more

“…Nevertheless, the combination of two-way multiple-antenna system and SWIPT to enhance energy efficiency and secure information have not considered yet. In two-way networks, several prior works have investigated how to optimize power and information efficiency with MISO transceivers [16][17][18][19][20]. Two-way MISO networks with one base station and multiple users were investigated to maximize harvested energy [16] or minimize total transmission power [17].…”

“…As for FD systems, the authors study the joint design of beamforming matrix in multi-user FD system. By using semidefinite relaxation (SDR) method, the solution of selfinterfering channel is obtained [21]. In [22], the authors propose a FD wireless-powered communication network (FD-WPCN), and design a protocol based on time allocation.…”

“…While traditional half-duplex (HD) communication systems operate in either frequency division duplexing or time division duplexing mode due to lack of practical devices that can transmit and receive concurrently using the same time-frequency resources, recent results in full-duplex (FD) communications have opened up new possibilities to double spectral efficiency in next-generation wireless communications [1]- [4]. However, the major detrimental element in FD communications is the so called self-interference (SI) generated by the transmitting node's own signals.…”

“…Nonetheless, D2D communications are more vulnerable to security attacks compared with the traditional D2BS counterpart [1], [12]- [16]. The main reason is the limited computational capacity of the D2D nodes to implement traditional cryptographic security measures.…”
