Fuzzy logic has a great potential for researchers and it has been developed over the last two decades. In animal science, there are limited numbers of studies on fuzzy logic approach. This study was carried out to examine the Fuzzy logic applications for prediction of the egg production data. Egg production records were obtained from the commercial poultry farm in Izmir, Turkey. Egg production traits of brown laying hens at 22 to 40 weeks of age were analyzed with Fuzzy logic system. In this study, Fuzzy logic model was developed for the prediction of egg production values of three classes; top, middle and lower (bottom for the cage effect) production. For this purpose 120 data lines representing 4 inputs consisting of cage, age at sexual maturity (ASM), body weight at sexual maturity (BWSM), body weight at mature age (BW) and 1 output, egg production (EP) that collected daily and individually were used in a Fuzzy logic model. The similarities between predicted and original production records were investigated, the coefficient of determination (R 2) was found as 0.89 which was also shown the prediction's success rate. The probability of egg production at ASM of 168 days, BWSM of 1500 g and BW of 1820 g was found 98.97% while egg production's probability at ASM of 157 days, BWSM of 1720 g and BW of 1940 g was determined as 97.97%. These results were also concluded that layers reached at sexual maturity later have lower egg production. The results illustrated that Fuzzy model could provide an effective and accurate prediction for classifying egg production of laying hens. However, since the applications of fuzzy logic related to the prediction of egg production are limited, this work will be pioneered by future studies.

A globális környezeti érdekek, a hatékony gazdálkodás és az állattenyésztő gazdaságok jövedelemnövelési igénye növekvő kihívást jelent az adatalapú döntéstámogató rendszerek alkalmazása felé. Az Agrárium 4.0 és az Ipar 4.0 forradalma rengeteg termelési adatot hoz létre, és a szakpolitikák is támogatják az okosrendszerek terjedését. A gazdáknak egyre fontosabb lesz figyelemmel kísérni és használni a termeléshez kapcsolódó adataikat. Azonban néhány tényező, mint például az adattulajdon jogi szabályozásának hiánya és a mesterséges intelligencia korlátai, kihívásokat jelentenek. A számítógépes információs rendszerekre alapozott döntéstámogatás hatékonyságát befolyásolja, hogy az emberi döntések gyakran a pillanatnyi körülményektől függenek. A megtérülés is fontos tényező, de a különböző technológiák bevezetése óta még nem telt el elég idő ahhoz, hogy a termelés hatékonyságára kifejtett hatásuk pontosan értékelhető legyen. Korai bevezetési adatok alapján akár 19–32%-os termelékenységnövekedést, 80% feletti munkaidő-megtakarítást és 22%-os környezetiterhelés-csökkenést eredményezhetnek pl. szarvasmarhatartásban alkalmazott, automatizmust biztosító okosrendszerek. A gazdák bíznak a technológia hatékonyságában, de az infrastrukturális feltételek nem mindig elérhetők, ezt nemzetközi és hazai kutatások is alátámasztják. Az internetelérés ingadozása következtében fellépő adatvesztés és a karbantartás nehézségei megnehezítik az okostechnológiák elfogadását, a termelési adatok figyelemmel kísérése, értelmezése még gondot okoz, és igényt támaszt a munkavállalók képzésére. Azonban az intelligens eszközök és a mesterséges intelligencia alkalmazása hatékonyabb és fenntarthatóbb állattenyésztést tesz lehetővé, amely folyamatban azoknak a gazdálkodóknak a szerepe kiemelkedő, akik a technológia bevezetésével, az adatok elérhetőségének biztosításával nagymértékben hozzájárulnak a modellek fejlesztéséhez.

Data mining and decision support systems for efficient dairy production

Gainful livestock farming requires selective breeding of animals with certain heritable desirable traits which gives profitability in terms of farm produce. Modern dairy animals are selected for traits which directly or indirectly contribute to high milk production. The concept of "feed conversion efficiency" in terms of milk production is now vigorously taken up by researchers and farm managers for recognizing and breeding efficient milk-producing animals. The whole concept of economic farming thus requires identification of "elite" animals, meeting above criteria as base population for the farm enterprise. Farmers and animal traders have been selecting best animals based on certain physical characters, which were also accepted by the breeding scientists as phenotypes. Data mining allows uncovering of hidden patterns in the data for better understanding of data relationship for developing suitable models for further improvements. Along with artificial intelligence techniques, data mining has opened new avenues for achieving high resource utilization efficiency and sustainable profitability in livestock production systems. The present review discusses and summarizes various data mining techniques and decision support systems for scientific dairy farming.
