“…The use of terephthalate derivatives is an interesting alternative because it is rapid and easy to produce from the upcycling of PET at mild conditions. In a similar work, Na 2 TP was obtained from waste PET bottles by treating them with concentrated sulphuric acid at 120 °C for 6 h. 40 The terephthalic acid obtained was purified by precipitation in water prior to being treated with a solution of Na 2 CO 3 in ethanol for 12 h to finally obtain Na 2 TP. XRD analysis was performed to confirm the purity of the product and investigate the structure, while the electrochemical experiments on the electrode made of Na 2 TP revealed promising results.…”
