Sustainable Green Policy by Managing Flare Gas Recovery: A Case with Middle East Oil and Gas Industry

Abstract: Push for sustainability is evident in areas such as energy generation where the focus has been on finding new deposits to outpace drawdown on existing reserves. Gas flaring is employed by oil and gas industries to burn-off associated gasses from refineries, hydrocarbon processing plants or oil and gas reserve wells. It is one of the most taxing energies and environmental problems challenging the world today. Generally, safety flaring was dubbed as the saviour of process plants and mostly covers for sudden or u… Show more

“…Previous researchers did not study the direct effects of SDS on SSCP but instead used other constructs to explore the relationship, such as human capital, 87 logistics practices, 88 and green policies. 89 When organizations have top management support, develop new products, have relevant information technology-related knowledge and skills, and can adapt to the changing business environment, they work on a SDS. The direct relationship between EI and SSCP shows a positive effect highlighting the significance of EI for sustainable performance.…”

“…In addition, the state as a regulator also plays a crucial role in reducing the use of flaring gas. The government can reduce the amount of flaring gas used by implementing targeted policies toward gas flaring reduction, increasing taxation on gas flaring, and providing reward packages to companies with the lowest flaring activities (Sinha et al, 2020). According to the IEA (2020), Norway, which was one of the first countries to introduce regulations requiring operators to meter gas and tax flaring-related CO2 emissions, has reduced flaring emissions by more than 80% since the mid-1990s.…”

“…It is because AI is entirely based on simulating human functions as much as possible while following hardware technology’s current availability and limitations. Significant improvement has been happening in AI, and that is increasing the communication as well as cognitive thinking abilities of the AI (Vaio et al 2020 ; Sinha et al 2020 ). It is acceptable that AI will pass the human intelligence limits at some point in the future, and that will be the point where machine intelligence will be more profound than human intelligence.…”
