This paper aimed to understand consumer behaviour based on different constructs of buying behaviour antecedents, which included attitudes towards social aspects, green values, the value placed on digital channels, and green advertisements. Through an online survey of 650 respondents, we investigated the characteristics that affect consumer behaviour in Italy. A structural equation modelling (SEM) method was then used to explore the effects of the identified constructs on people’s buying behaviour, as well as evaluate their relative importance. On the one hand, the findings showed that among the identified constructs, attitudes towards social aspects have a direct effect on eco-friendly consumption, while green values positively impact both buying behaviour and openness to green publicity. On the other hand, green publicity only shows a weak impact on buying behaviours, while peoples’ attitudes towards digital channels have a positive effect on both eco-friendly consumption and on buying behaviour. In other words, the results suggest that people’s digital propensity, paired with environmental sensibility, may affect the online purchase of sustainable food. In light of the above, these results should be important for makers and experts dealing with green products, particularly sellers. In fact, sellers and marketers should consider our results as insights into their segmentation, targeting, and positioning strategies in markets.

In an era where environmental conservation is increasingly critical, identifying pathways through which technological innovations like virtual reality tourism (VRT) can promote sustainable behaviors is vital. This study investigates the impact of ‘ecological presence’, a newly proposed sub-dimension of presence in VRT, on tourists’ environmentally responsible behavior (TERB). Through structural equation modeling and fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis of data from 290 participants, we unveil that ecological presence—defined as the authenticity and immersion of tourists in virtual ecological environments—significantly bolsters biospheric values, environmental self-identity, and personal norms. Additionally, our findings indicate that ecological presence in VRT indirectly promotes TERB, predominantly through the mediation of enhanced biospheric values and environmental self-identity. Notably, ecological presence, biospheric values, and environmental self-identity constitutes a sufficient condition for achieving a high level of TERB. This research highlights the potential of VRT as an innovative tool for tourism administrators to foster environmental stewardship, offering a novel approach to leveraging technology for conservation efforts.

This study aims to determine how the influence of environmental accounting knowledge (EAK), environmental sensitivity (ES) and corporate social responsibility knowledge (CSR-K) on the pro-environmental behavior of accounting students. Given that accounting has an important role in environmental management and how to implement CSR practices in the face of increasingly crucial environmental issues. Quantitative research approach using multiple linear regression analysis with a sample of accounting students at UTM based on purposive sampling technique. The results showed that EAK has no significant influence on pro-environmental behavior in accounting students. Meanwhile, ES and CSR-K have a significant influence on pro-environmental behavior in accounting students. This shows that environmental accounting knowledge has not been able to encourage sustainable behavior, environmental sensitivity factors and CSR knowledge play an important role in encouraging sustainable behavior. Therefore, it is important to increase environmental awareness, detailed understanding of environmental accounting and CSR in the education curriculum as a provision for students to enter the world of accountants or business.
