Sustainability integration and supply chain performance of manufacturing small and medium size enterprises

Abstract: Purpose The purpose of this paper is to use empirical data to examine the impacts of integrating sustainability elements on the performance of supply chains of manufacturing small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs). Design/methodology/approach The conceptual framework was based on the systems theory and the triple bottom line concept. Purposive sampling approach was used to collect data from a cross-section of manufacturing SMEs. Partial least square (PLS) structural equation modeling (SEM) approach was use… Show more

“…The values more significant than the correlation coefficient value in both the horizontal and vertical columns are considered to be a reliability of discrimination. The square root of AVE is higher than the correlation coefficient, indicating that all the data in this study are well suited for reliability and validity tests (Fekpe and Delaporte, 2019). Therefore, this model is very suitable for the performance evaluation of academic libraries based on the KM.…”

“…A sustainable supply chain can improve the overall supply chain's general performance (Fekpe & Delaporte, 2019; Govindan et al, 2019; Huang et al, 2020; Shah & Soomro, 2021) and in particular improve aspects such as project management (Demirkesen & Ozorhon, 2017) and lower negative environmental impact (Anvari & Turkay, 2017; Yavari & Zaker, 2019).…”

“…2.1 SSCI and SP Sustainability is defined as the capability of the current generation to obtain its needs without having to bargain with the needs of the upcoming generations (Ahi et al, 2016). The cornerstones of SP are the three dimensions, namely economic, social, and environmental performance (Banihashemi et al, 2019) and there is a strong relationship among all three, which are related, reacting to and depending on one another, making SP a complex concept (Fekpe and Delaporte, 2018). SSCI is designed to accomplish a firm's strategic supply chain functions in ways that minimise their negative impacts on the natural environment and are examined through the three lenses of green purchasing, green manufacturing and green packaging (Hsu et al, 2016).…”
