Abstract:Here we report a case series of two dogs diagnosed as renal interstitial cell tumor
(RICT) accompanied by elevated serum erythropoietin level and marked polycythemia. RICT is
a rare tumor in dogs, originating from renal interstitial cells. While several renal
tumors such as renal lymphoma, adenocarcinoma, carcinoma, sarcoma, fibrosarcoma and
nephroblastoma may cause polycythemia, polycythemia caused by RICT has never been reported
