“…It is of practical importance that nearly half of the cases were asymptomatic or had symptoms classified as preclinical and that the tumor was predominantly unicentric in contrast to earlier reports suggesting a multicentric origin. The fact that 1 1 of the 18 cases appeared as solitary nodules is of 8, 19 The proportion of solitary nodules in other types of carcinoma in the series from 1947 through 1961 was 6% in squamous cell, 8% in undifferentiated and 1 1 yo in adeno~arcinoma.~5 This situation is reflected in the proportion of resectable cases.
