“…I t is well lcnown (Cohen 1961) that in a plasma medium, the phase velocity of light being greater than that in vacuum, a moving charge does not radiate. I t may, however, produce a n acoustical shock wave which may be called acoustical Cerenlcov radiation.…”

“…Correspondingly, the angles of emission in plasma and vacuum, respectively, are given by (Field 1956;Cohen 1961) that the set of equations in (1) can be deco~nposed into two groups. One group contains all the magnetic field and no charge accumulation representiilg an ordinary electroinagiletic wave ill a plasina without a pressure term.…”

“…1 The firstexcited 2+ state is known to be a collective state from the Coulomb excitation experiment 4 and from a recent experiment on the (d,d') reaction performed by Cohen and Price. 16 KS calculated the energy of this collective vibrational state and the 2 + -*0~f E2 transition probability by introducing collective coordinates to describe the collective motion. Their calculated values are 1.22 Mev for the energy and 0.28X10~4 8 e 2 cm 4 for the B(E2), which are in very good agreement with the experimental values 1.17 Mev and 0.22X10~4 8 e 2 cm 4 , respectively.…”

“…The level structure for this nucleus has not been well established. Level energies determined from previous studies mainly on particle transfer reactions [1][2][3][4] are not precise and the amount of information obtained from decay studies [5, 61 has been highly limited.…”
